Our Mission
The Friends of the Fox Point Pool is a 501c3 non-profit that was formed in March of 2024 and officially started fundraising in June of 2024.
Our mission is to raise the funding needed to save the permanently closed Fox Point Pool and reopen it as an inclusive and ADA accessible aquatics facility and community gathering space in Fox Point, WI to help strengthen community fellowship, promote swimming and water safety skills, and encourage physical and mental wellbeing within our community.

The Board of the Friends of the Fox Point Pool consists of a group of 7 volunteer board members:
Kate Battle, Chair
Kate loves living in Fox Point and wants to help preserve and improve upon places that make our Village special. Kate is a community builder who sees how important local gathering spaces are to facilitating the friendships and bonds we have with those who live around us. She believes the pool is an important space for people of all ages and physical abilities to connect while improving their mental and physical health. Contact: savefoxpointpool@gmail.com
Katie Heyer, Vice Chair

Maggie Cain, Treasurer
Maggie is a lifelong resident of the Milwaukee area who moved to Fox Point in 2012. She is a Master Gardener, a Master Naturalist, and a volunteer with the Raptor Program at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center. She divides her time between Fox Point and her family's property in the Nebagamon area, where she hikes, canoes, forages, gardens, and keeps an eye out for eagles and hawks. She is an enthusiastic alumna of Marquette University.

Dan Knopp
• Has lived in Fox Point since 2007
• Loves swimming and biking, has done sprint triathlons since 2000
• Favorite animals – humpback whales, whale sharks, and dolphins (Dan has volunteered on scientific expeditions with these in Maui, Baja, Bahamas, and Azores)

In line with our bylaws and IRS regulations, if the Friends of the Fox Point Pool, Inc. is ever dissolved, any remaining funds—after paying expenses—will be used to support charitable purposes consistent with our mission. These funds will be donated to one or more qualified 501(c)(3) organizations, such as a local nonprofit that enriches the Fox Point community.
